memory upgrade

Hi, Im running an Asus P5L-VM with a E6600 2.4 & 2gb pc5400.
I did a Crucial scan & it told me I can upgrade to pc6400. Will it handle pc8000 or even pc8500

you can put it in, but the BIOS may not support it so it will just run as 6400, however it will allow greater OC and tighter timings/lower latencies - there is also a reasonable chance it will run at 1066 anyway, but no guarantees
