Hi keeno and welcome,

You say you have 800mhz RAM, how much do you have?

You will benifit from the faster RAM and and more of it in a 64bit OS, but depending on what you use the PC for you may not notice much difference.

It depends on the cost of the RAM, if you can afford it and if you plan to OC the CPU.

problems with Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666

hi there i am new to this place , i have a problem, I bought some of this memory and tried to upgrade my pc, currently I have 4gb (2x2 Patriot low latency ) it works fine.

I have an intel DP45SG mother board, when i try to put the new memory in the system booted fine (win7 pro 64bit ) then crashes with a blue screen.

I have checked the intel site and this board supports tri channel.

please help:confused:

Have you tried running memtest to check if the ram is faulty?

http://www.memtest.org/download/4.00/memtest86+-4.00.iso.zip

Burn it to a disc using Windows 7 iso burning tool (or any other ISO burning tool) and tell your computer to boot from the disc drive. It should then perform a check on your ram.

Also maybe this new ram you're using needs more volts than the previous stuff? You could alter this in the bios (refer to your motherboard manual).

Another thing you could try is updating the bios? It might support the ram with the latest BIOS running but maybe not with the one you're running.

Again refer to your motherboard manual on how to do the above.

Goodluck
