Hi guys my current setup is

d3hp
Patriot Venom Red 8GB (2x4GB) 2400mhz

500w psu

my friend has offered me his RAM as he is building a new rig, so my question is would this ram be much of an upgrade he is offereing me, its lower speed @ 1600mhz compared to my 2400mhz, and ive been told haswell like faster ram, so do you think id benefit much from getting this ram? (its also a quad channel ram instead of my dual channel ram at the moment, not sure if that makes any difference?
Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz

Please remove the competitor link at the bottom of your post and check the FAQ.

Its the memory controller which determines how the memory operates, Haswell is dual channel so the memory will run dual channel mode, regardless how many ram modules you are using.

Keep the RAM which your currently using.

Cheers :)

That's a marketing ploy so that you know your buying a memory for socket 2011 cpu's which use quad channel memory controller - also the memory is form the same batch.

You could also buy 2 lots dual channel memory.
