My system spec

AMD FX-8350 @4.2ghz
Corsair H105 AIO cooler
Asus Crosshair V Formula-Z
Asus Matrix 7970 Platinum
G.Skill Trident X 2133mhz (CL9) 2 x 8gb sticks
OCZ Fatality 1000W Gold PSU
Cooler Master Haf X case

My question is would I notice any difference in gaming performance if I was to swap out my two 8gb sticks for some 2400mhz memory? Or should I stick with what I've got.

I didn't think there's be that much difference if I'm honest, the only reason I asked was because my friend has just built a PC as is only running 1333mhz memory, I was thinking of selling him my memory and then going for some 2400mhz to replace it...

Seriously not worth it ....

If your 2133mhz kit is very good with tight timings or fine tuned , then there is also a possibility you may lose performance as some 2400mhz kits at XMP perform poorly in my experience. You need to fine tune them some to bring them upto scratch.

Fair enough mate, in all honestly I'm more than happy with my memory, it was just the thought of being able to upgrade to 2400mhz that had sparked my interest. I'll stick with what I have though, thanks for the advise guys :D

That kit tunes at 2400 also. Well mine does and several other guys who bought it early in X79 lifespan does. So I am sure you can keep pushing. EDIT ASUS AMD board great for memory too.

Brilliant stuff, I'll have to see if I can get it to go to 2400mhz then. Cheers buddy :D
