Memory voltage and timing issues.

hi all,

i pruchased 2x2gigs of OCZ platinum RAM from OCUk last december, which are rated to run at 133mhz with 7-7-7-20 @ 1.8v and since then, theyve been running at 1200mhz ish at those timings and that voltage, due to my motherboard (foxconn a7da-s 3.0) refusing to run them natively at 1333.

the other week they released a new bios that finally fixed this issue. i flashed it the other day and they will run natively at 1333 (and even 1600, but thats a different story...), but it defaults to 9-9-9-27 and 2.1v.

the thing is, neither of those problems want to really fix themselves. i can only overvolt the RAM and not undervolt them back to the correct levels. Foxconn claim this is a safe voltage, but i just want other opinions on this to be sure, so my first question is:

is 2.1v safe for 24/7 usage?

By default, all the RAM timings are set to auto, however, if i try and set even one of the timings manually, the bios resets itself completely. The wierd thing is, i can set the timings properly in AMD overdrive ... but this isnt really an ideal solution.

I dont really know much about ram tweaking, so advice would be useful...

2.1 volts is ok 24/7 but check to see if the ram is hot if so active coolong is required
Can you run 2.1v and 7,7,7,21 @133, you should be able to do that?

Now you can ggogle for a spreadsheet that shows the difference between 7.7.7.20 @ 1200
and the other settings, you may not gat any speed improvements from the faster but looser speeds.
Have you thought of keeping at 1200 but tighter timings?

6.6.6.18 or something like that (you may need to up the volts to be stable, but the memory will be faster
