and I ahve been told to change the memory voltage from the default 1.8 (whcih the mobo set) to 2.1 volsta to be in line with OCZ's reccommendations but when I change it in the biso the area around the memory voltage gets a red background and I don;t know why. I can set it to that and the setting is there if I exit bis and go back in. 1.8 is still being displayed within cpu-z though for some reason.

Any ideas?

Regards,
Neil

It's shown in red in the Asus bios as a warning. Basically it's an overvoltage as the standard is 1.8v. It's nothing to worry about though as a lot of memory sticks need more than 1.8v to work correctly. It's a case of the manufacturers not following the accepted standard.

It will not change from 1.8v in CPU-z as it's just reading the spd info. Again, nothing to worry about.

If you have set it to 2.1v in the bios yes. My Ballistix PC8500 needs 2.1v but it still only says 1.8v in the spd tab of cpu-z. Nothing to worry about.
