memory woes

lo good peeps

just got me gskill zx(2gb) this mornin.Took me old stuff,put new in and nowt happens,no post beep nowt

the board im using is a dfi expert.tried the mem in slots 1 and 3 and 2 and 4,still no luck.the light for the mem is illuminated which i think means it is ok?when i turn the pc on and you get the countdown of red leds,it stays on 2 and doesnt post?

i'm on the original bios the board came with,if that helps?

I'd advise putting your old stuff back in, if you still have it, go into the BIOS and restore defaults then turn off. Put your new memory in, and try again.

Clear the CMOS,

The pc might not be able to boot using the settings for the old RAM on the new Ram
