Im wondering, right now I have PC3200, but what would happen if I put say PC5300 or PC4000 etc in would it not work? explaination of these terms would be good cheers.

not automatically by the Mobo, it will only natively support up to PC3200......you'll have to manual change the bus speed to match the ram (eg 250mhz for PC4000), and watch out for over clocking the CPU in the process. Prob best to input the timings and voltage by hand too if you can.

that's if the PC4000/5300 is DDR1, nor DDR2, if it is the latter, then it plain wont fit in your DDR sockets (good thing too, or you'd blow them sky high!)

I have never seen a retail PC5300 DDR modules before. PC4800 (DDR600) is the max DDR rating ever sold. PC5300 is DDR2 spec so just watch out when you are getting new RAM.
