Memory???

This is for a friend....

I currently have Corsair DDR2 XMS2 800mhz PC6400 RAM

2gb, working as a matched pair.

his ram runs at latencys of 5-5-5-12

Well, I am looking at ugrading and getting 2gb more, of this:

OCZ Reaper HPC (Heat Pipe Conduit) - Dual Channel 2GB PC2-6400 DDR2-800 Gaming Ram (2x1GB DIMM)

This runs at latencys of 4-4-4-15

Would it work ok and correctly?

My system is a dual core 2.66ghz, and uses an asus p5k motherboard.

Yeah, but you would be better off selling what he currently has and getting 2x2gb.

Also what OS does he have?

No problem there then.

Bear in mind that a his other ram has higher latencies, the OCZ will run at 5-5-5 etc, it would be best to get more of the same if he doesnt want to get 2 x 2gb

Tbh I would just get the same as he has now. The new memory will have to run at the same speed and latency as the old stuff. Plus it probably uses different chips and they may not be compatible with each other.

Just so I am clear are you trying to use 4 x 1gb (Corsair + OCZ) or are you trading Corsair 2 x 1gb for OCZ 2 x 1gb?
