Hi All,

I keep getting memory_management BSOD's on my new system. Im using OCZ reaper 6Gb 1600Mhz & Asus P6TD Deluxe

If I use auto ram settings in bios.. The ram picks up at 1066Mhz and shows 6Gb at post. And I get no errors whatsoever in memtest.

However, If I manually enter the the ram freq to 1600Mhz and set the timings to 7-7-7-24 (as stated), at post it only shows 4Gb and also I get masses of errors in memtest. And am also getting BSODs in Windows 7.

Can anyone please help on what I should do to solve this problem..

Thanks

Have you increased the memory voltage to 1.65v.

I would RMA if you can't run at recommended settings, had a similar problem with my OCZ memory, would fail running at recommended speed.

I had set it to 1.65v thats when i was getting the BSODs. So I set everything back to Auto and now no errors in memtest.

You say RMA it..? All 3 sticks? I dont get how it can be the memory at all if it gives no errors when running on Auto settings then lots of errors when running at recommended settings? Surely it has to be a motherboard/memory compatibility issue or something..

Auto though: picks my ram up at 7-7-7-20 running at ddr3-1066. Unsure what voltage as the bios doesnt show it.. You can only set it.

HEEEEEELP!

UPDATE: Flashed with BIOS v 0209: (Increased memory compatibility).

Which has done an amazing nothing. Do you think it would be worth running each stick of memory individually on the recommended settings and see what happens in memtest ?

With the memory running in Auto you are only running at 1066mhz which the memory seems to be happy with, run the memory at 1600mhz then errors start to occur due to a faulty module which is coursing problems.

Try each stick individually and see how you get on.

I went through this with my I7 setup, run all 3 at 1600mhz @ 1.64v I would not get into Windows and also fail mem test. Run at 1333mhz or 1066mhz no probs also past mem test.

You will need to send all 3 sticks back.

Edit: seen your update above.

Right, Ive tested each stick individually.. one stick it wont even boot with.. the other 2 boot but errors in memtest.. All 3 therefore showing errors in memtest. But if i run each one individ at auto settings no probs.. Or with all 3 at auto settings.. "No probs"

So, and I believe you RJC.. All 3 sticks are fc*ked? Just one more slightly than the other?

:(

Well that has certainly rained on my christmas parade.. Im never touching OCZ again..!

I ended up buying Patriot Viper, The second set of OCZ memory I got was also faulty.
So much so I thought it was my motherboard or CPU, sent these away to be tested, come back with no problems, in the mean time bought the Patriot memory which is working fine, got a refund on the second set.

Sorry to ramble on :)

Give the place of purchase and see if they can do a quick swop-over.

RJC? You got messenger? Add me plz: [email protected]

EDIT:

Btw, wtf is that in ur sig? Looks like a rather long.. Pipe?

Also, I was thinking of going for the Corsair Dominator series.. a title that seems trustworthy, or perhaps the xms3 that ocuk use.

I've just bought some dominator GT 1600Mhz memory.. and im having the exact same problem!!! I get no errors in memtest when i run from auto settings.. If i run at 1600Mhz only 4Gb will show again and i get loads of errors in memtest!! No - Way!!!!! :(

I think I fixed it. I think its cos you have to turn AI overclock tuner off automatic? This ram supports XMP so I set overclock tuner to that and its running fine now at 1600Mhz, it looks like.. I set the settings before but it must have been AI tuner on auto that was interfering with it? I am using Asus P6TD please can someone confirm this..?

Here is a screenshot of my bios, dram timings are set at 7-7-7-20. Does this look right?
Also no errors in memtest now.
