hi there i have a 3gig kit of corsair dominator TR3X3G1600C8D

would i be ok getting another set of this ram to total 6 gig or buy

also will i see any difference going from 3 gig to 6 ?

yes, that will work fine, although, wouldn't it be better to match the dominator with more of the same?

thanks for the reply, i would rather buy another set of 3 gig dominator, but have read its better to have 3 x 2 gig strips rather than 6 x 1 gig strips, thats why i mentioned the xms3 6 gig kit.

so what would be better?

6 x 1 gig strips of dominator or
3 x 2 gig xms3 ?

6 x 1 gig would be triple channel too, just two lots of it.

Power consumption would be lower if using 3 sticks (not a massive amount though) and 2GB modules will hold there value a little longer than 1GB sticks.
