Hello,

You might remember that my old RAM died and had to be sent back for RMA. I bought new GeIL 6400 (2x2GB) to replace it. When my new RAM arrived I MemTested it for at least 3 hours. Might have been over night, I cannot remember.

With my old RAM I used XP but decided to upgrade to Vista seen as I was reformatting. Since then firefox (latest stable version) seems very unstable and regularly crashes, especially when closing it down.

I decided to do a MemTest again this morning.

Pass 5, 4:43 hours long, Errors 2, ECC Errs 0

Tst 6, Pass 0, Address 1754.2MB, Count 1
Tst 4, Pass 4, Address 482.1MB, Count 1
Let me know if you need the err-bits, good and bad addresses.

What do these results mean? Is just two errors ok or does it mean the RAM is approaching death? I've only had the RAM for a month so I hope it's not the latter.

Thanks for any advice.

It seems odd that you have so few failures. Nomally when a stick goes bad you get lots.

Is the memory set to the correct voltage (usually 2.1v for Geil) and timings in the Bios.. especially 1T / 2T which can be unstable at anything other than 2T with bigger dimms

I'm bumping the thread because I'm still having problems (only with firefox but the looks of things).

The stick's label says 5-5-5-15 with 1.8v so that's what they're set to. Would you recommend raising the voltage to 1.9v?
