Memtest advice pls..

Hi,

Pc randomly starting restarting once or twice a day sometimes and sometimes not at all..So decided to run memtest...I booted from cd and let it do its thing...

With the prob I am experiencing - PC RESTARTING RANDOMLY - is that the correct test in memtest for my RAM??

Please help

Hi!

Not sure if i am understanding your post correctly, if you are having problems and want to see if its the RAM then run memtest on boot, and leave it running complete pass for at least 12hours (overnight is best) See what errors (if any) you get.

EDIT: Thats ALL tests on a loop

I had memtest on a cd so booted from cd at start and then let it run for about 10hrs...I did not get any errors at all. Does this mean my RAM is working fine?

Or do I have to run other tests in memtest to stress the RAM more whilst testing?

I wouldn't rule out RAM just because memtest reports no errors tbh.

I think there are other programs to stress test your RAM but I don't know of any off the top of my head. Sorry.

Disable 'automatically reboot' so you can see the BSOD on the screen.

Control Panel, System, Abvanced, Startup and Recovery, untick 'Automatically reboot'
