memtest boot disk problem

hi guys
ive made the boot disk (well 3)and they all work in my laptop but not the desktop
it gets to the screen just after memtest menu for which version to run then says loading or something similar then just hangs there
any ides?
ive tried with different memory and single stick
its a Wolfy 8400 cpu
and 4g of ddr2

edit- ive done it with only my cd/dvd drive enabled in the boot menu ,does the hd need to be up as 2nd boot device?

now sorted
downloaded new version and set sata as ide instead of raid (turned this back after )
