I was having a few probs with my pc so decided to run memtest (first time I have ever bothered)-I used both memtest 32 & 86 and both had multiple faulures on test #5...
I got an RMA number from OCuk but then decided that as I only have one stick of 512k Geil value I couldnt test anything else and didnt want to be billed if it passed there tests(and having to pay shipping back etc),so ordered another stick I also figured I could do with the extra ram anyhow (how ever it went)...
The strange thing is that with both sticks in my mobo (k8n neo plat 754) it passes both memtests fine
,I left it running for a few passes of both,but individually both sticks (even the new one) fail test #5 .
So I am sort of working on the principle that as both sticks when in together work fine and pass the tests I should cancel my RMA ? . Just seems strange that they both fail individually..
I am probably being a noob and overlooking something obvious,but it just seems odd.
