long story short, have been advised to try memtest to see if my RAM is the problem with my PC (Wont boot), problem is, i've got no clue what the program is actually telling me

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-058-GL

is what im using.

use the memtest flopy to boot from, starts checking/testing (afaik it'll go forever? :S)

after about half hour running, its still spamming red rows, in the top left of the screen is something along the lines of L2 Cache : unknown, in the top right is something like

passes: 0%

am i correct in assuming my RAM is a dud?

after about an hour running, im going to bed, i've noted what was currently on screen, i obviously cant print screen >_>

the following was shown:

2404 Mhz
L1 Cache: 64 39407 MB/s
L2 Cache: Unknown
Memory: 2047M 15711 MB/s
Chipset:

Pass: 2%
Test: 18%
Test *hash* 3 (inversions 8 bit pattern iirc)
Testing 108k -2048 M 2047 <
Pattern: 40404040

Wall time|Cached|RsvdMem|memmep|cache|ECC|test|Pass|Errors|ECC errs

1:04:40 2047M 568k e820-std on off std 0 (7million+) 0

followed by god knows how many rows of red lines of data. I'm assuming (hoping tbh, at least i'll finally know the problem) this points to dodgy RAM?

thanks in advance (and praying the 'spaces' aren't lost on submit)

edit: bah they were, hopefully you get the picture

aye, ty for the reply - after speakin to support @ ocuk, theyve advised me to manually set the timings

4-4-4-12 or w/e

i allegedly should be able to do it via BIOS in DRAM config but either can't find it, or dont have that option :S

also, somewhere in the BIOS, was the section

allocated memory: 2048 Kb
used: 0 Kb
free: 2048 Kb

does this further point to the memory not being set up correctly as opposed to being dodgy?

ty in advance
