basically as said. Does memtest ever finish ro does it keep doing loops of stuff? I run it for a couple of hours the other day on some ram, but that system is still randomly resetting in the way it would with dodgy ram.

well I always know I have dodgy ram cause the pc would randomly (ie not under loads, different progs etc) blue screen, or reset, or freeze up. That problem always comes back to ram for me. This ram I have tested twice now (on 7th pass on memtest atm) and cant find anything wrong. I cant think of anything else that would cause this.
just been trying it again. Its fine on the idle but I just tried to copy accross a file from an internal hd to a usb caddy hd. The computer reset 3/4 way through. I am wondering if it could be a power issue but it worked fine with all the hds and more internally for months before its recent death. It died recently because a windows file corrupted or soemthing random like thta which can also be power or ram problems.
ok I';ve been walked through a few things by a mate. the +12v rail on my psu is bouncing around 6 to 9V in bios and in speedfan. and the other rails arent so bright either. None are hitting targets. Tried another psu, same thing. Could it be a mobo problem?
