Memtest problems

My friends computer keeps having trouble posting so after a CMOS reset it was working fine. As a precaution I ran memtest and it fails on all 4 sticks in any different slots, the motherboard is an MSI K8N Neo 2. Is the motherboard faulty or could it be all 4 memory sticks, they aren't matched. He has 2x GeiL 3200 512mb sticks and 2x Corsair Value 2700 512MB sticks.

I'd be tempted to say the motherboard is causing the fault. I don't suppose you have a spare stick of DDR that you know works fine you can use to test?

All 4 worked fine till yesterday when we put it into the new board. It loads into Windows fine.

I am now doubting memory test as I just ran it in my newly built machine which I have ran Orthos for 12 hours on and it came up with errors near enough straight away. This is using brand new memory.

Try one stick and see if you get errors in every motherboard you test it in.
