MemTest v3.3 question

Hi

Been running MemTest v3.3 for only 15mins now (I know thats nothing in time length) but so far its showing over 2000 errors and counting ! Silly question time .... is this normal ?

No there should be no errors.

Check your timing & volts on your RAM and match these in your BIOS then
run Memtest again.

Whats best way to check the timings for the memory ? Cpu-Z

CPUZ will show you them, but you need to be in the BIOS to change them.

Ok I ran Cpu-Z and got the timings and entered into bios but when I select manual to adjust them I'm not sure which is which ...

Info in Cpu-Z :
Freq: 200.3 mhz
FSB Dram: cpu/10
Cas Lat: 3 clocks
Ras to Cas Delay: 4
Ras PreCharge: 4
Cycle Time (Tras): 8
Bank Cycle Time (Trc): 12
Command Rate: 2T
Dram Idle Timer: 16 clocks

............... OK now the settings I have in bios are: (btw its an Asus A8V mobo)

Cas Latency(CL) ........... in here Ive entered 3.0
TRAS ...............
TRP ................
TRCD................
TRRD................

TWCL...............
TWR................

Cpu - Z will show you what the RAM is currently running at.

You will need to either check the sticker on the RAM or check the
manufacturers webside to get the recommended settings for it.

These need to be entered into the BIOS.

Oh ok .... I dont have any info on the ram ... but I had eveything set to auto in bios.

OK found the sticker ........ must have been made by a dwarf munchkin !

Its pqi memory and Ive emailed them requesting the timings. Thanks again.

In my BIOS the items I have the ability to change are

TCL
TRCD
TRP
TRASMIN

And Volts

put your timing ie 4-4-4-12 @ 2.0 into these.

Maybe somone with a Asus board could help you in more detail about the
setting's in the BIOS.

Once your setting's are entered you will be able to test to see if the RAM is
faulty.

Are you overclocking at all ?

HI again Angus

I found out the settings I need to change but I dont know what the values should be (ie what I should enter) so Ive emailed PQi for them ... this was just value ram I got a long time ago. No Ive not overclocked.
