Hi i am trying to increase my overclock but want to check my ram first to make sure its ok. I have downloaded memtest and unzipped it then put the iso file on disc. Now when i switch on i have selected boot from cd, nothin happens and it just boots straight to os? Any ideas guys have i downloaded it and put it on disc correctly is there a certain way to do this as i have also tried the floppy and no joy.

I might be wrong here but if you had an iso you would have to mount it in windows and then do a 'disc to disc' copy onto a physical disc. An iso is pretty much a dump of data.

Why not try the windows version?
It works well.
MemTest 3.8 is the latest one i think.

Iso is a literal bit by bit copy of a cd. If you can't burn an iso to a cd with all the help of google to assist, I suspect overclocking is not for you.

Nonetheless, check the md5 sum of the image, burn at slower speed, burn with reasonable software.
If you install ubuntu somewhere, it'll let you boot memtest from the hard drive when you turn the computer on. This is how I run it.

Good luck.

Ive sorted it , its because i was trying to burn to dvd disc not cd and it wouldnt let me thats all. Cheers guys memorys fine anyway just wanted to do a check.
