Hello all
I've been waanting to test my memory, but I can't seem to get Memtest86+ v.4.0 to work.
I downloaded it and burnt it as an ISO to a cd using MagicISO, I then set the machine so that it'll boot from CD. It goes through the usual blurb of system info, down to 'Verifying DMI pool data', then 'Loading.......' comes up and since that's different to a normal boot, I think Great, memtest is about to start. But it just stays at 'Loading...................' and I never get the memtest blue screen of tests that I see in the screenshots!
Is this a problem with Windows 7, or i7 cpus, or having 12gb RAM? Or am I doing something wrong?
Thanks

I found out what was stopping memtest from running: Apparently it doesn't like drives to be set to AHCI. As my optical drive is SATA and set to AHCI, that was the problem. I disabled it temporarily in BIOS and memtest ran.
I suppose this little nugget might be useful to others.
Thanks

i had the exact same problem, my RAID 0 is obviously enabled, as soon as i set the ports temporary to IDE and rebooted, the test ram fine.
