Hi all
Hoping for some help with memtest86 results
System is stable with 3x2gb
Crashes a lot with 6x2gb in

I am doing a memtest and its found about 4000 errors. All within a certain range.
Is this range physically mapped to a stick of ram? Tried to find answers but no luck as im using a phone! hence asking you good people. Im hoping its just 1 stick and I can use the remainders together

Heres the range

Have you bumped qpi/vtt dram voltage a few notches? 6x2gb will need an increase as it places more strain on the memory controller. Also did you try each 6gb kit on their own to rule out a bad stick in each kit.

Thanks setter - I haven't at all, I know nothing about memory.

So knock up the qpi/vtt dram voltage a few notches... I shall have a look in the bios and try to spot those letters. Thanks very much

What board is it tres? On asus x58 boards it was known as qpi dram voltage in bios, unsure on gigabyte or others. 1.35 would be a good starting point.

Gigabyte X58A-UD3R

I looked in the bios, found the qpi something, but it was grayed out - unselectable. But a "XMP Profile" option above it allowed me to change to "profile 1" which upped the ram voltage to 1.65v and the qpi to 1.2v. I tried that, and at the moment, Chrome hasn't crashed - which is usually my first sign after turning on the computer!

edit - I thought it was initially 1.3v but after just checking again, it says 1.2v. I'll keep an eye on it...
