memtest86

Hi guys

Have a toshiba laptop in which I suspect a problem with the memory.
I have ran memtest86 and both (2 x 2gb dimms) sticks of ram produce no errors when installed on there own, however as soon as both sticks are installed together memtest crashes after about 10 seconds and the laptop reboots.

Please give me some sort of clue what is the likely cause here.
(I have tried both slots on the mobo as well and they both seem fine with 1 stick of ram in)

Tried the latest version of Memtest86? I had the same problem with my newly built PC, and it turned out there's newer version of the program called Memtest86+ that's more compatible with modern hardware.

yeh sorry it was the latest version (3.5). it also comes with 3.4 as well (which incidently seemed to work fine ???)
