I am desperate for a New game & have had a look at Men at War priced at just over 25 quid, Cheap enough but I've not heard much about it so I'll leave you with this Quote & see what you lot have to say about it, Anybody got it ? Played it ? Demo ? Thoughts ?

"Chored from Digitalmindsoft"

Men of War is the follow up of the highly successful Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, developed by Best Way . The unique gameplay and design made the predecessor standing out from the RTS genre and found very soon a large fanbase, which is still active due to the impressive mod support.
Men of War starts were Soldiers ended, it delivers improved physics which allows you to destroy whole maps on a level of detail you never saw before, the newly developed armor penetration physics calculate the impact angle of every single projectile in accordance to the historic armor value of each vehicle. Every tank has the sound of its original, dropping you in a fully cinematic and authentic sound experience, which hardly can be described. As this wouldn’t be enough, you will enjoy a really useful and unique feature: Direct control! Take over the control of every single soldier you have, or drive tanks and other vehicles, set up ambushes with antitank guns and blow your enemies up with precise and deadly aimed shots at their weak spots!

Feel the adrenaline when an enemy Tiger crosses the roads, or feel the enemies fear when he hears the sound of a deadly German Panther tank, which is driven by you!

Bloody good game, and mine was £17.99 with free delivery from you know who. Really in depth and realistic, enjoying it a lot, graphics are superb and gameplay blows the graphics away! Seriously Malc, buy it, jersey people have it for £17.99 as i said a few lines above.

Yep, pretty much what Neg said, its brilliant. If you have played soldiers:HWW2 then you will know how to play this game. Some missions are Epic and last for hours, great range of units in later missions and you do get the tention of a real battle and teh satisfaction when you outflank and tank and blow it up with 1 soldier :)

Had a go at the demo of this and thought it was a terrible game. It has'nt improved from the first one. Both have extremely basic graphics and the gameplay is awful. No where near as good as COH and it's expansions.

Shut-up, Company of Heroes and Men of War are two COMPLETLY DIFFERENT GAMES, you cannot compare them both, EVER!

Its like comparing World of Warcraft to...say....Guild Wars...

Don't you tell me to shut up. That is my opinion and i am entitled to it so wind your neck in!!

Sorry, my post was meant to slightly humourous...

But, COH and MOW are 2 different games,

COH
*Base Building
*Units
*Rock Paper Scissors
*Easy!

MOW
*Real Tactics
*Single Men
*Dog Eat Dog
*Bloody hard!

MOW is hard at first, but when you get used to looting, flanking, hiding and supression, its supprisingly simple. Well not simple, but a bit easier, and still insanley hard..(or maybe thats cos im on hard? i dont know)

I am usually rubbish at strategy games with lots of resource management so I stay away from them. Surprisingly enough I loved Soldiers: Heroes of World War 2 which in its day was supposed to be very difficult. I finished it twice so is Men of War similar in that you are controlling individuals without huge amounts multitasking.

Went down town to buy this today & neither shop had it, 1 shop was selling it for 25 quid but the other well known chain was doing a special on it for 15 quid.
I'll get it when it's in & hope that a few others will also get it seeings it's only 15 quid & then we can Nub it together.

saguy if you loved heroes you will love this as basically more of the same but in a good way : )

Great game and something worth mentioning is it is one of those few games that plays great co-op.

I love COH but I love this too.

So I decided to download it from D2D yesterday (US D2D is cheaper) and my street had a power failure at 95% completion. I had to start the download again which was annoying as D2D cap their download speed. The game is great so far and very similar to Soldiers and in my opinion better than COH which is still a great game. I am about to start the second protect the train mission which I am dreading because timers always make me nervous.

Top game. I never played Faces of war but I did play SHWWII. The thing about MOW is that you tend to command a mass of troops as opposed to the 4 soldiers as in SHWWII. It is beautifully detailed and has some nice touches, I would say this game comes into it's own with MP. Due to the amount of units that you control on the majority of missions, 2-4 players make the game work much better.

A mixture of stealth, attack and defend style missions keeps it interesting. You can even hide bodies on this, like the commnados series of games. I still think the game could do with a patch but It works pretty much ok for me and my mate online, if not a little chuggy at times. Great fun though. I imagine it would rock if you had 4 players all using voice comms.

Bought this last week and just got a chance to play.

Far too fiddly and too detailed. Possibly suitable for someone who has hours per day free to learn how to play, but not really something you can pick up quickly.

Graphics up close are great, but gameplay is difficult "up close", and you're forced to zoom out to see what is actually going on within the wider battle scene.

Mine is going on ebay over the weekend. If I get a quid for it I shall consider that a blessing, I certainly wouldn't pay half that for it.

I would buy it from you.
