Men Of War £3.24

one of the best real time strategy games ever online or offline allso very modable and good graphics to boot cant go wrong for that price im online allways maybe play wth u soometime

Its great, you can shoot people and steal their hats (...and guns too..).

But no its a great game, as tefal said a brutally realistic CoH but without base building (some singleplayer missions maps & multiplayer are based on reinforcement points to hire new troops). So its all just using tactics, the map and your available soliders/vehicles to your advantage. It can be as simple as countering an enemy tank by getting an AT gun or your own tank or as thought out as having a guy crawl out and steal the bazooka from a dead enemy that you shot previously then flanking round the side of the map and blowing it up.

Some of the stealth missions in the single player can be a bit of a pain though, and the voice acting is hilariously awful.

EDIT: and a point to say how complex the engine is, there was (is?) a bug that when you made a guy drop a knife sometimes instead of it just dropping and landing on the ground, it would instead land on his foot and kill him :D

I love it and personally think its far superior to Company of Heroes. It is an acquired taste though and you do have to basically turn the speakers off when the speech comes on :D Some of the scale and number of units you have to oversee on some of the missions is very daunting !

Its a steal at £3 imo.

Im downloading the demo to see if i would like it, is this just generally like any other RTS?

edit: lol i just realised what CoH stood for

*slaps forehead*

Hmm is this like Hidden & Dangerous?

Does it have coop? We've been looking for something to replace H&D quite a long time and I'm hoping this might be it..

Best strat game ever imo, brutally realistic and the new one in dev is looking even better.

At this price it's rude not to buy it.

Get online and have some fun.

Just sop you know steam has ran out of keys, till they get sent more by the dev you'll get "can not connect to key server" and won't be able to play.

However red tide seems fine so gonna have to play that till MoW key arrives :(

If you liked COH and Heroes of WWII then you will like this game. Its more micro mangment of troops then building units and capturing waypoints and some levels are pretty hard but its a bargin at £3.

I love this game, especially the inventory system where you can rob the machine guns from vehicles or even hijack them if they are not too badly damaged.

Brilliant game, me and a couple of mates connected up via hamachi and got some games going a while back - so much fun to play.

I haven't got round to re-installing it on my ssd yet but I think I'll have to tonight.

CoH is a reaction speed game, testing micromanagement etc, MoW tests your stratgey and tactics and punishes you so hard if you do something wrong.

Its so much better than CoH, and it has coop. I have only played 2 missions of the single player but I'm madly addicted to the multiplayer. It may take a while to get used to online as you get thrashed again and again, but stick with it and you will think its the best RTS ever.

I have a problem where MoW does not recognise my Gamespy account and fails to connect me online. But I still have the American marines campaign & the red tide expansion pack to complete. :)

Indeed^.

I've barely played sp since it's release but mp many many hours, can't beat it.

Tip, always keep mean with your tanks or your 100+ point tank will be dead by way of a 5point bazooka man etc etc, thats what makes the game so great.

Lots of great mods out there too, check the digitalmindsoft forums.
