Men's shirts

I get my workshirts in bluk from Matalan. SImple white short sleeved shirts at a fiver a go. Reason being they get wrecked in about 4 to 5 weeks either through ripping on racks or getting generally fubared. I am not prepared to pay 50 quid plus for shirts that are for work and will get wrecked regualrly.

Formal shirts e.g weddings, funerals, interviews etc I hve a few from my local tailor

Going out gear , next/M&S/Burton/what ever label takes my facny when I see it

(suprising really but burtons do some pretty decent gear these days)

M&S slim fit. Amazing shirts. Really well made, solid and last long. No shrinking in boil/tumble drier wash. Comfy and not cheap material.

I lift and lug all sorts of tech equipment and they take a beating.

Heavily recommend.

I don't like TM Lewin/ Charles Tyrwhitt that much. I find the cuffs and collars are too big, and they are not slim enough - and I am not that slim (Stocky/ wide frame rather than fat tho ;) )

If you are near Stratford/ Shepherd's Bush Westfield, try Sacoor Brothers - Nice fit, nice materials (I have a white cotton one that is still super soft, even after a couple of dozen washes), and not that hard to iron. As a side note, their suits are OK - they look lovely in the shop and are quite well priced, but they don't tend to last that long in my experience as the wool they are woven from is too fine.

Other than that, I like Calvin Klein and Massimo Dutti shirts.

Also BUY A STEAM IRON! It will cut down your ironing time massively and your shirts will always have that just- pressed look :) A decent one can be had for £80 or so (Get a 4 bar one)

Anywhere in london to buy Massimo Dutti Shirts? They look quite nice but would want to try one on first before buying!

Yeah they have a big shop on Regent or Oxford street :) still prefer Sacoor shirts though.

Shirt "fits" annoy me, they should be renamed to

Regular fit = obese fit
Tailored fit = substantial beer belly fit
Slim fit = regular fit

Genuine slim fits are a rare commodity.

Last shirt I ordered was form iTailor. I'll definitely be ordering again, a fully tailored shirt for £37 delivered. My only gripe was the collar was a little flimsy and there was no option for collar bones.

True! Far too much flattery from these retailers out there. Super slim is the way forward whenever possible

I completely agree with this, regular fit shirts make you look like you are wearing a parachute. I think shirts are the biggest give away of professionalism and style.

You got the tailored and slim fit shirts the wrong way round, at least for the Jerym street stores. Slim fit, except in a few places seem to be for those with a substantial beer belly. Then they charge extra for the tailored superslim fit.

The criteria I used is far more common, in fact I believe Charles Thywhitt changed the name of their tailored fit range to "super slim fit" because the tailored fit was confusing and out of line with other shirt shops.

E.g. Hawes and Curtis use "slim fit" as their slimmest fit and "tailored fit" as the one in between http://www.hawesandcurtis.com/formal-style-guide.asp

3WiseMen and Working Style do great business shirts but it's a long way for you lot to come just to buy a few shirts. The ones I had made in Vietnam are still looking boss.

I've found M&S tailored fit seem to be fine for me. Not tried the slim-fit from there but have had it from Next in the past and I've found they're just far too tight in my shoulders. I don't have a belly, so I don't know where you're getting this beer-belly lark from? Maybe if you're as thin like a rake, then fair enough.

While I really like Charle Tyrwhitt shirts I always find that th sleeves are too short.

Personally I like Olymp shirts and Eterna shirts.
