Just bought an MSI HD 7850 OC and am made up with it, but most of the time when I switch my computer on from cold the fans hit full whack and I get no video output. It seems to be booting up regardless, as the HDD light gives it some. Turn it off and on again a few times and it boots as normal.

Any ideas chaps?

Cheers,

BS...

I've just bought a Corsair Builder Series CXM 430W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified ATX/EPS PSU, which should be more than up to the job. The fan runs at full speed until I turn the computer off, not just for a few seconds.

I will try reseating tonight, cheers...

At my wits end with this guys. Most times I turn it on the fan hits full speed and stays there and nothing is output from the HDMI. I then have to hold the power button in to power down, and try again. Sometimes 3, 4, 5 attempts before it will boot normally. Other times, it will start up fine first time.

I'm starting to think I may have a faulty card.

Any ideas chaps?

Cheers,

BS...

Just noticed these replies, sorry guys, been away in Afghanistan of all places!

The PSU is a brand new Corsair Builder Series CXM 430W Modular 80 PLUS Bronze Certified.

I will look at updating the BIOS over the coming days.

Thanks,

BS...

So, RMA'd it, cost me over a tenner to post it to them, they then emailed me a few days later saying there was no fault with the card. They've sent it back to me, so I got my brother to record me opening the package from them and installing it in my PC and as soon as I turn it on: WHOOOOSH, the fans are at it again.

The BIOS on my MoBo is the latest.

Bit of a brick wall to be honest, as I got nothing but attitude from the 'technician' at Overclockers when I asked for his name.

Oh well, I guess I'll just have to live with it until it's time to replace my MoBo, CPU and RAM.

Hey ho,

BS...
