I'm making a takeaway site for a friend.
Basically want to make it and hand it over to him. I think its a bit over kill to use wordpress for it so planning on concrete5 so I can just dump in the html and go from there, trying foundation out to.

So I have made a page how I think I want it to look. However is it OK to put it in a table like this http://codepen.io/anon/pen/MyZbdG

or is there a more elegant way of setting it out

Absolutely nothing wrong with using tables for tabulated content. That's what they're there for and looks fine to me in this context at least.

Tables have a stigma but purely becasue of the good old days of using them for full site layouts before CSS was fully supported.

You're gonna have the same amount of markup doing the same with divs in the html and would need to mess a lot wth CSS to make it work nicely.

Thank you,
Just looked at doing it a none table way but will have loads more mark up. Think a table will be easier for them to edit afterwards to.
I thought I could class it as tablature data but wasn't sure

Oh yes the good old days going into fireworks and slicing images up to put into a table layout :)

When doing sites I usually take their existing menu, save it as a PDF and open it in a new window when clicked on. Makes it easy if a customer wants to print it off at home as well and updating it is easier as well - just save a new PDF and replace the existing one.
