Could you give me the OcUK collective opinion on these two mercs please, and then tell me what someone thinking about buying this should buy instead?

Ridiculous, sadly. It's always whats put me off as I've loved the styling of the E Class for some time. Servicing costs seem to be a league above that of BMW for no good reason. The warranty costs are also comedy-expensive, if you've ever got a need for a laugh and a spare 5 minutes call up and get a quote. It often seems double the cost of the equivilent BMW despite being underwritten by the same firm. I suspect this reflects the higher of fixing them.

This is what is concerning me. I would be happy to go down the indy route though as it's out of warranty. There's no point going through an indy with BMW with their prices at the moment tbh. What are general thoughts about derv vs petrol turbo?
