Merc Ranges &* Model Numbers

A sticky would be vast, as you can/could get 318s that were 31-somethingelse and all manner of other engine-size is not the "model" size tag.

Depends what year it is. Pre facelift (95 - 02) its 2.8, post facelift its 3l.

Erm I think you'll find what happened to the E Class in 2002 was a *tad* more than just a facelift - they replaced a car that had spent years in the shade of the superior 5 Series with one that is really pretty damn good and at least a credible BMW rival - perhaps even superior if asthetics are your game given that Bangle really was mad when he designed the 5.

I was just pointing out that the E280 can also be a 2.8ltr car, depending on the year.

I quite like the 95-02 shape. Its certainly not what you'd call an attractive car but theres something distinctive that appeals to me. I wouldnt say no to a new one either mind ;)

On the whole I'm really not keen on the shape of the W210 but there are quite a few CDI Sport's kicking around with AMG bodystyling - looks acceptable with that on it.
