Saw one of these in the flesh today. :eek:

It was at the Reading services on the M4. I didn't realise they cost so much what is it £300k?

What made me laugh was whoever parked it didn't seem to care, they didn't park it out of the way just next to a crap van and a L reg Corsa.

Maybe they parked next to it?

I park my car what would seem in the middle of know where in car parks yet someone always seems to park next to it when there are 323 other spaces to pick that are closer to the shop. :confused:

I guess if people think it's a nice car they might try and park next to it to have a snoop at it.

I always try to park next to a wall, or next to a nice car to avoid damage - has worked so far!

Merc SLR's are gorgeous btw - dream car :cool:

I didn't know that either.

He gave the GT back to Ford, blaming it on the dodgy alarm. Bit of a lame excuse, so I imagine he had other reservations about it.

clarkson kept getting texts from ford saying his car was stolen, even tho hes in it lol

i never thought, but parking next to the nicest car is the best idea, as they wont want to damage their car eg hitting ** car with their door

There's an SLR parked regularly near to my department at uni, very nice in the flesh, got a pic of it somewhere, will post later. Just seems kind of wierd seeing the thing parked up next to rust buckets + other lecturers cars.

I'm sure if you have £300k+ to spend on a car then you're not too worried where you park it.
Also, last time I checked there wasn't a separate car park for supercars

Nah, I think it's more psychological than anything else. It's quite funny to see groups of people driving into car parks, then all parking in a line, seemingly in formation.

Anyway, I digress. SLR, nice. Never seen one (in the public. Saw it at 2004's motorshow, NEC.)

and a scratch or dink will cost a fortune to repair

Looking back at the pic, it's parked in a disabled bay... one way to avoid those scratches I guess

You sure you're not getting confused? Clarkson has owned a SL55 AMG, then he got a SLK 55 AMG. I don't think at any stage he was going to get the SLR.
