This seemed to sneak up a little, but it stars Chris Prett and Rebecca Ferguson (sigh).

AI as Judge, Jury and Executioner.

A little "Minority Report" but more thought provoking from the point of view that AI is poised to become far reaching.

I enjoyed it.

She's nice. :) Not sure I remember her from any movie before seeing her in Dune earlier.

If not doing good at the "boxoffice", presumably because of how it to me seems like a, well "road movie" (movie is about a man in a court room), or how I like to think about some movies. There's ofc a focus on things with the story, but limited to some thing, so less epic in a way, and somehow perhaps less stimulating to the brain perhaps.
Another movie with Chris Pratt, Passengers (2016) having a small cast, but is more spectacular overall.

Mercy seemed like a fun movie though.

Btw, if you like courtroom movies, there's a director that made a few of those. Uhm, director's name is Sidney Lumet.

Somehow the movie 'In time' (2011) also came to mind, with this extreme take on a future society.

Noticed this appeared on Amazon Prime today, watched it and almost gave up after first 10 min as it looked like it was going to be full of AI slop sections similar to Ice Cube's War of the Worlds as it has the same feel as other films that we filmed during COVID where it's close up's on someone's face without interacting with anyone else.

After finishing it can see why it didn't get a big release and was quietly released onto streaming.

First film in a long time I'd tell people to skip and I like me some cheap / crappy films.
