Merging/joining video on pc for free

Can anyone suggest some free public software that is able to join/merge holiday movies without any size limitations etc, tried a couple of supposed free bits of software but they have limitations and are far from free. this is for pc running win10

What format are they?

Virtualdub will do it if they are AVI files. There are various ways to get it to work with other filetypes.

they are mp4, avi and mkv

You can just use a Bat file just use copy /b *.ts joined_files.mp4

Use windows movie maker.

This is what i use to cut, edit and join a number of videos in to one file.

free, simple to use and does the job well.

well i just downloaded that, installed it and am greeted with a box that say this is trial version please buy the full version

You want windows Live Moviemaker, it's part of Windows Essentials, just de-select the parts of the download you don't need.

thanks will try that

i have just tried boilsoft video joiner (trial) and ran into a strange issue with that, loaded 2 x 10 minute videos both identical in format size etc and pressed merge, the output file was 30 minutes long it had duplicated the 1st video in the queue so i had 1 movie part 1 twice then part 2 once all merged???

Could also try the free tial of VideoRedo, will let you create your DVD no problems.

Certainly worth the £70 odd, especially for the quick stream fix option.
