Merging offline 360 gamertag with an online one

Is there anyway to do this. I have only just got my console online and the gamertag i had offline, is not available online, and i have a different name for my online one?

just choose a different one, it should still merge as far as i can remember

When you choose the join Xbox live option from the blades, it lets you go through the process of signing but but allows you to change your tag if the offline one is allready in use. Your gamer score will all still be the same, but just your tag that's different

that doesnt seem to be the case for me

I have a gamertag (offline) called mat lock and online gamertag is djmatlock

i cant merge the 2

I recall trying this when I first got my 360, don't think it's possible.

i think the only way you could do is it to convert your offline tag to an online one (see my previous post), then you'd have to use that tag as your main one. As has been said I don't think you can actually merge 2 tags together so all the achievements etc appear on the second tag
