Current Setup
My existing Sky Q router has nothing plugged into it, other than a single ethernet lead to a switch, which then has all my (wired) network attached.
Internet --> Sky Q --> Switch --> All devices/other switches
Considerations
One of my (server) PCs has a fixed IP address for some port forwarding rules to it on the Sky Q router (I run a couple of game servers on it from time to time).
Note: I do not have Sky Q itself! I'm on regular Sky HD at the moment.
Mesh
If I get a mesh network (looking at Deco P9 for its powerline backhaul/connectivity) will I literally just:-
1) Turn off the Sky Q wireless network and port forwarding etc.
2) Introduce the mesh unit between my Sky Q router and all the rest of my network (so everything is connected in effect to the mesh)?
3) Create any port forwarding rules on my mesh to the (server) PC in question?
4) Define the mesh wireless network to be the same name/password as the Sky one had?
Done?
Internet --> Sky Q --> Mesh Unit --> Switch --> All devices/other switches
Or will I likely have issues and have to address problems thus leading to hassle in areas I'm not familiar with? eg: Setting up a DMZ and/or turning off UPNP on the Sky Q router?
Note 1: If in the future I need the Sky Q wifi network for Sky Q itself then I guess I could then turn that back on, giving it a new/dedicated name?
Note 2: All major hardware (PCs, XBoxes and the like are all wired, and not using wireless)
