A bit of background, I have 150mb vm soon to be upgraded to 200mb in vm round of "free" upgrades. I have the SH2ac in the lounge which I have cabled to my smart TV and tplink "gigabit" powerline. The other end of the powerline goes upstairs and links to the PC and another basic ap.
Problems are that I never get any more than 80-90mb download through the powerline via cable and via the basic ap as it's only 2.4ghz around 45mb. I get no signal in the spare bedroom or dining room.
So I want to get rid of the current powerline and basic ap as they're just not performing, poe and associated cabling isn't an option as it's a rented property. I'm looking at something like the Google wifi. My only concern is the house is pretty solid, it's a 1930s building with thick walls and wondering if the Google mesh system is going to work well. Where the basic ap is now I just about get a very weak signal from the SH2ac, as I say half the house currently gets no signal.
I've seen you can get the 3 pack imported for about the UK 2 pack price, and they use USB c for power so the US plugs shouldn't be an issue. Although if I can get away with the 2 pack I have £85 quid in cash back and 7% discount at certain uk electronics retailers I can use towards purchase.
I've waffled on a bit so tldr - Will the Google mesh work well in a thick walled house, and should I get the 3 pack?
