Afternoon all

We have a BT wholehome mesh setup in our house, three units, one connected to our router, one in the living room and one upstairs. Seems to give good coverage and everyone is happy with it.

Mother in law has been complaining about her WiFi, I presumed that she was on the cheapest plan but having been round to her house she has Virgin Media cable internet which is getting good speed but drops off dramatically in her kitchen which is where she uses her ipad and is complaining. So I was thinking of getting her a mesh system to boost reception in the kitchen, I could buy her what we have, but it is a good few years old so I presume that there might be something better on the market?

Any recommendations, she's not a heavy user or gamer so a simple setup should be okay, so do I go with what I am familiar with, old BT wholehome or would you recommend something else, budget is no more than £200.

Thanks

Darren

Deco. Inexpensive, well proven long term support, simple set-up and management, capable of line speeds with wireless backhaul and near line speeds using wireless backhaul on everything from the x20 upwards. Also don’t look out of place on show and will work with any ISP.

Thanks, gone with the X20, will see if she purchases and if she does I will install it and set it up for her.

I would have recommended the Linksys Atlas AX5400 - I got one when I joined Community Fibre and it replaced my cheaper 2 mesh unit all on its own. I got my full 500mbps when downstairs and about 100mbps upstairs which was fine until I started playing games on wifi upstairs, so I added another (mainly because Amazon were doing it on 5 x interest free payments) and now I get 500mbps all over the house (3 bed terraced with solid walls for reference).
