So I'm contemplating transferring my PC out of my Corsair 900D into something a little smaller (and perhaps with better airflow, not sure how bad the 900D is). I was going to watercool at one point but not sure I'm going to get around to it now and so it's just a bit big and heavy and I suspect not the best for air cooling.
The options I've basically narrowed it down to are the Fractal's Meshify 2 and Corsair's 5000D. They seem to have a few things in common regarding basic layout and stuff.
Which one is generally regarded as being the best and are there any points either of them have that make them especially good or bad?

Also any other cases in the same price range and category (size, good airflow, compatibility) that I should consider?

Thanks.

The only thing I would say to watch out for the the 5000 is if your trying to fit a mechanical drive. I use a af2 360 which has to front mount. This means it takes up some of the length at the bottom. After you fit the psu and all its wires it leaves it extremely tight to fit mechanical drives. In the end I had to buy a nas to get them out of the case. Apart from that it's a very good case to work with. My only other gripe is I prefer 140mm fans to keep the noise down. I probably should have went 7000d or meshify 2 xl.
Yes, that was a concern I had, but it looks like you can shift the 3.5" cage towards the front of the case to give extra room. I've got a 1200W Superflower Leadex PSU which I suspect is on the longer end of the spectrum, so space is a concern.
I'm not sure if the Meshify 2 is any different in this regard?
