So I was putting off worrying about bits too much unless I somehow managed to get a 3070... I won't believe it (eg actually buy bits) until it's in my hands, but one should be on its way.

A case is the thing I've been most unsure of in my list... mainly because I really don't want any glass (which I'd thought would be fairly reasonable, as who wants to be picking up shattered bits of glass from their system and carpet)... anyway... what I'd say is a good case would be something like the Gamesmax F15M - £65ish, (getting the mesh front option) includes 2 200m fans on the front, and a small one on the back for the exhaust (so I wouldn't need to buy any), and it's got all that nice stuff like captive thumbscrews and magnetic dustfilters... it's basically a cheaper Lian Li 215 (also a case I think is cool just a bit pricier)... but no glassless option so it's out of contention.

Best I've found is something like the old Meshify C, mainly because atm I'm seeing a £60 option (normally I think they're £75ish and at that price I don't think it's worth it), and so once you slap in an extra fan or 2 (thinking arctic p14s) then it should still be under £70... I'm getting an FE card and those are a bit shorter so it should still fit, not sure what to do about sag, probably just cut a bit of wood to size and put it under the end for the time being)... I've seen some comments about clearances of air coolers then causing problems with RAM, but I didn't really understand how that plays out so if anyone has got one I'd appreciate some advice.

Alternatives would be:
Bitfenix Nova Mesh SE £35 (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/bitfenix-nova-mesh-se-midi-tower-white-ca-23m-bx.html) ... weird thing is I found it through a site searching for cases that don't have glass, and in the picture it doesn't, but in the description it does so would need to confirm with overclockers... I did notice it only has punch-out i/o tabs and stuff so definitely less of a quality option, but a great price. 2 fans like the Meshify C so would just need to buy 1 or 2.

B-grade Fara R1 (https://www.overclockers.co.uk/bitfenix-nova-mesh-se-midi-tower-white-ca-23m-bx.html) ... I'm not fussed about it being b-grade it just a metal box and £40 is decent... has a couple removeable i/o bits the others are punchout ones, only includes 1 fan. The GamersNexus review didn't make me keen on it (things like the front i/o being attached to the front panel, but needing to remove it to clean the filter).

I'm leaning towards the Meshify C if I can get it while it's still on sale, but figured there might be other stuff I've missed (like I hadn't thought to check the clearance stuff until I saw a post where someone mentioned them a month or so back - I've been lurking in the case section hoping to find a perfect answer).

Edit: I just got convinced asking around elsewhere to get the meshify while it's cheap so it doesn't really matter now (I can't see a way to easily delete the thread).
