I've been having this problem for a while, any messages from inside the domain are constantly stuck in the "Messages waiting to be routed queue".

I have gone though and checked everything I can think of but the messages just keep building up and don't get routed externally!

Any ideas?

Cheers,
Andy

is your MTA and/or SMTP service okay?

give them both a kick, see if that helps first off. are you routing to an ISP mailserver? if so what ISP?

I've tried restarting the services but that hasn't changed anything..

The messages aren't going to an ISP mailserver.

They were originally getting delivered just very slowly.. Now they don't seem to go through at all!

Well I've now rebooted it as its outside office hours and it hasn't come back on yet! Whoops! Looks like I'm stopping in their office first thing tomorrow..

Yeh I think it had.. I went in this morning and it hadn't rebooted was still up and running. Have sorted the queue problem but now all the messages are getting relay access denied errors! Can't reboot the server until this evening either..

If I send a message from their server to my work address it comes through fine, but any other external email gets a relay error. The mail server for their company and my company are hosted on the same dedicated box so that probably explains that, but not sure why I'm getting the relay errors!

Well I've sorted the relay errors but for some reason they still aren't forwarding onto my smarthost.. At least they aren't sitting in the waiting to be routed queue anymore, just in the SMTP connector queue instead!
