messed up BIG TIME!

so i was messing with the wifes pc, in particular the partitions on her HD now the thing wont boot!

i keep getting a:

"error: no such partition.
grub rescue>"

i didnt create am image of the HD either :rolleyes:

, i tried installing a OS from a usbstick but it doesnt get passed the above error.

please help before my life gets made complete hell!

Em.... did you have a Windoze install on or a Linux install?

The grub rescue seems to indicate Linux?

If so ... try this

it has w7 and linux mint installed.

Once you have downloaded and burned the ISO, follow these intructions:

This problem is usually caused when Linux is uninstalled. It cannot remove the loader, Grub, and Grub needs Linux to operate. When there is no Linux installation on the computer, then Grub cannot load any Operating Systems, consequently giving you that error message.
