I decided to buy Windows 8 upgrade via the MS store.
I downloaded the file and using the Windows 7 USB boot tool, made a Windows 8 boot USB.

Anyways, wanted a clean install so according to the various sites read, I formatted my SSD and proceeded to install Windows 8. Then 11% in I get an error, cant quite remember what, but some windows code ending in 7025D.

So I decide to reinstall Wjndows 7 from disc, but after changing the boot order, my cd doesnt seem to want to spin....so nothing happens.

Anyone got any suggestions how to resolve my issue?

Much appreciation in advance.

Bugger if I know what possessed me to try this tonight

Why didn't you retry Windows 8 or re-download it?

Are you sure your BIOS is set to CD first?

I've tried Win8 but it fails at the same spot.
I'm sure I have the DVD drive set to boot first.

What is the Windows Boot Manager? There is something in the bios that mentions something about boot override and the Boot manager is there. Is that right?

Think I'll try and boot an external disk drive and try install Windows from that.

Turns out my DVD in my PC isnt working. Any time I put a disk in it asks for a disk.

Reinstalled Windows 7 from an external drive, so think i'll just install Windows 8 over it, rather than try clean install of Win8.
