messed up graphics in games?

for some totally unknown reason to my ive suddenly started getting some really mesed up graphics in games. The same thing is happening in CS:S, age of empires III and tiger woods golf.

strange spikes shooting across the screen, flashng and flickering and and lines of images getting streched as shown on the right of image below.



i've uninstalled and updated my gfx card, sound card and mouse/keyboard drivers with no change.

tried playing the games and different resolutions and gfx qualitys even turned right down to 1280 x 1024.

my gfx card is a GeForce 7900GT
Screen is a Dell 2407

any ideas guys?

Probably your core overheating, maybe the fan is full up with dust.

Take the thing out, give it a clean up, blow the dust away.

If that dont work, then maybe its on its way out.

Not sure if this is your issue, but it sure sounds like it. I have the same issue with my card.

i get the same spiking in css, i'm thinking its a borked card.

Altho, its handy for css because it seems to mainly spike out from the guns on people backs so you can trace it back them and kill them easy

Hey mate i get the same trouble as you exactly but im using 2x XFX 7900gt's in sli are you doin the same or just one card ? as i cant get mine to do it just with one single card installed ?

i get the same on bf2 with 7900 gs ocuk one with the big heatsink
