Messenger for Mac issues.

Hi, sorry if this is posted elsewhere. I have two issues, both with Messenger for Mac. Firstly, I am on a bog standard Macbook. The bottom of the range model. My problems are relatively minor but still pretty damn annoying. My contacts (who are all on windows machines) can see what I'm listening to, however I cannot see what they are listening to. My second problem is that I have to keep clicking into the conversation window to write new messages instead of just being able to type a message, press return, and type another message...

If anybody can be of help then it would be much appreciated, also, by help I do not mean suggestions to use adium, aMSN or mercury... I've tried all three, and I hate all three.

By the way I'm using version 6 instead of version 7, Version 7 for some reason usually refuses to sign in and also refuses to let me change my display pictures.

If you're running the Safari 4 Beta, that will explain the window losing focus after you've sent a message. But I have no idea why you can't see what people are listening to.

Really??? I am running the Safari 4 Beta, but messenger for mac isn't web based. Does it still make a difference?

I can't say why it's effected, but a friend of mine still uses the official client and said the bug was caused by the Safari 4 Beta.

I'd recommend giving Adium another try and maybe create a thread for things you don't like, see if we can help you out or point you to an add-on that will help.
