I've just ordered the Chat Pad for the 360 as I have been starting to use MSN on it abit recently, what is the general opinion of it?

Also I remember the pictures of the update where there was a little box with your conversation in it at the bottom of the screen, with whatever you were doing still in the background, like it was allowing you to continue doing whatever you were doing while having a conversation. I always have to press the guide button and go in that way so that the full dash/blade is visible(like sending a message). Am I doing something wrong?

Bought my GF one for Christmas and I would say that it seems really well built and certainly makes the messaging side of things much easier. When you press the green msn button on the pad I think it brings up the chat box at the bottom of the screen, not sure if or how you do that on just the controller.

Its a brilliant piece of kit, one of my favorite accessories for the 360. I don't even use msn on my 360 and I still find it really useful for replying to messages, editing album information and in-game typing.

i love the chatpad. don't use the messenger but even when entering names or replying to messages it just makes life so much easier. So much so it's always on my controller

I've had one since day one even though I don't use Messenger. It's perma attached to my main controller just in case I need to reply to a PM quickly.

Build quality is solid and functionality wise it does the job. It's even backlit! Sadly the build quality on the included headset is pants. I reviewed it a while ago on meh blog.

I find it very useful, makes messaging easy, can type proper in no time at all. its extremly light and doesnt make much difference to using the pad. It comes with a headset that fits the chatpad just like someone else said, it has just the 2.5 phono adaptor, no side bits, it still works if you plug it right into the controller. I def recomed it, the keys light up in the dark when pressed, realy useful. The software on the 360 is easy to use, the pad lights up when you recieve a message, you can add people, chage your status, but theres no display pictures but that doesnt matter imo.

I have it and find it great for messaging on Live - before I hated replying to some messages as I had to move the controller around for ages, now I can type like I do on a phone or keyboard.

It takes a bit of getting used to to have it attached while you play, so most of the time I don't use it and use my old headset. I'd recommend it for the price though I think.

I like it :) Saves time for typing messages so people are now more likely to get a reply from me.
Not used the headset it comes with yet though.
