Messenger Virus? Hijack Logfile Attached

My son was on msn messenger when he was offered a link to a picture that featured him (or something like that) and when he opened the link he was aware a file downloaded and set up an icon on his desktop. He deleted the icon and uninstalled messenger using add/remove programmes. He then went to the c:drive to remove the MSN Messager folder and all of its contents but the folder will not delete as a message comes up saying "cannot delete usnsvc.dll: Access is denied". Any idea whats going on? I have run a full virus check (AVG Free) and it hasn't found anything so am I ok?

This is a virus, I was almost hit by it. As far I know, someone else got hit by it on here and may be able to help.

correct. I almost did too. Kaspercy blocked it though, but for some of my friends it supposedly naft there PC up.

slightly off topic, but I just had a client call me saying he had formated his PC because he got an email with "an irish virus" so he paniced, wanted to know if I could recover his files.

maybe I should send it to all my clients!

Loads of my customers have been hit with this virus- including myself although my AV blocked the file download :D

Post up a hijack this log after running the usual cleaning app's
