Hi everyone. Hope you can lend a hand...

i recently got a new PC (from Overclockers) and it had a Messenger Installer loaded onto it. So naturally I use the link to install the latest Msn Messenger and i download it fine.
When i try to sign in, the two men spin around for a bit, before I get this error message:
"Windows Live Communications Platform has stopped working"

Vista then trys to find a solution for this but nothing - it's been this way for a week. It happens also when my brother tries to log in on my PC.

Any help/advice greatly appreciated. :)

Complete uninstall (everything), download the latest version from the site (Live messenger or whatever it is) and start from scratch. Also check there is no firewall software blocking it.

I get this randomly sometimes, but never for a full week.

thanks for the response.
I wanted to uninstall it, but i couldn't find it in my Program and Features list. and I've looked very hard.
it's beginning to bug me

That's weird. What version of messenger is it? You could try running the installer again and see if it gives you the option to remove it.

i downloaded ccleaner, but am unsure of how to use it.
(i REALLY don't want to go wrong and delete important stuff by mistake.)

EDIT: i gotta go, thanks for your advice theheyes and pcdave, i'll keep trying tomorrow.
:)

Used ccleaner, still no avail.
In my Programs and Features list (as I say, Messenger isn't in the list) I have something called 'Windows Live Essentials' - will uninstalling that get rid of messenger?
