need help

I have just performed a fresh instal of xp pro and i cant seem to get messenger installed it keeps on saying not installed to get help with this click here.

Any ideas

firewall turned off antivirus turned off

Unsure why it can't install. I would recommend trying Digsby

although i did instal service pack 3 before hand

Use Pidgin instead.

Or check the "Mess with messenger" website for an installer that ignores some of the annoying checks that Live Messenger seems to like.
