Not wishing to get into the politics of it, but just wondering about the technical side of things and forgive my ignorance. If Meta go down this community notes path and ends up falling foul of the UK/EU and being blocked/banned, could this brick all of our Quests or would they be able to ring-fence certain services such as VR?

It's unknown how this is going to pan out in the EU & UK, as we don't have the constitutional free-speech protections of the USA, and European governments are keener on control of the internet. The Online Safety Bill will have Ofcom taking responsibility for internet censorship in the UK.

I presume it could be handled as a separate service, rather like XBox Live and PSN are.

Hopefully it'll all work out and we can keep using our devices.

depeneds on meta i think and how they have set up the service.

"brick headsets" no if the headset and apps work offline. so long as meta hasnt set up any auto disable feature ect or "check ins"
it fairly complex and can be time consuming to resolve.
Oculus Go's and Oculus Quest 1's are stull running if people want to use them an not a roblem other than meta internet/social features.
