What does everyone use to tag their movies with metadata? I've been using meta x for windows but it's pretty garbage compared to the Mac version.

Any alternatives?

Ember Media Manager is pretty good, I use it to tag all my movies and tv shows for use with XBMC. It also automatically downloads fanart and posters.

I use media centre master and it seems to do the job great :D i use it with media browser and it gets everything you would want from movie description to backdrops etc

Gonna have a look at what benjo suggested above for myself though for sure :)

I can see why you want that one :p

Movies, television, and adult title search from a variety of configurable meta data sources.

Just had a look at Ember... looks really good but doesn't tag the actual files with the metadata does it? It simply scrapes all the information as seperate files... I'm after something that actually writes it to the files the way meta x does.

Only issue with Ember is that dev is stopped... Downloaded the Ember R which fixes some issues (lets you install for one!) but there are a few bugs.

I need to prep all my media as I'm soon to get Rasp PI and XMBC, bit odd that it stores all the files in same folders as the video files, looks messy.

Found this that looks useful:
